Mia Koenig
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
To learn, grow and heal from experiences. That's the focus.
I specialize in helping adolescents and their families move from crisis to connection. My background in intensive pediatric higher level of care settings (PHP/IOP) allows me to provide the structured, clinical expertise needed to navigate these high-stakes challenges. I don’t just work with the individual; I work with the family system to repair relationships and build a sustainable environment for recovery.
Together, we will move past the "symptoms" and focus on the person. We will work on emotional regulation, identity building, and restoring the bond between you and your child. Let’s work together to create a future where your teen feels empowered and your family feels whole again.
My Approach
I offer an integrative, client-centered approach using evidence based practices of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, positive psychology and mindfulness.

About Me
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and received a Bachelors of Arts of Psychology at California State University, Chico. I then relocated to Portland, OR where I received a Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College. I have a passion for working with adolescents and their families to navigate understanding and to promote growth as a system. My experience thus far includes family, individual and couples therapy, with a great emphasis on teens and family. I have 6+ years of experience working in higher levels of care settings for pediatrics and adult eating disorders, suicidality, trauma, mood instability and attachment. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist under the state of Oregon, license number T3426 and the state of Idaho, license number 3681809.
