Mia Koenig

Marriage and Family Therapy Associate

To learn, grow and heal from experiences. That's the focus.

My approach to therapy comes from a collection of viewpoints of connection and relationships with friends, family, and the self. I focus on repair between relationships and individuals wanting to cultivate a meaningful identity of self. Our collaborative work together will be fruitful with purpose and intention.

My Approach

I offer an integrative, client-centered approach using evidence based practices of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, positive psychology and mindfulness.

About Me

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and received a Bachelors of Arts of Psychology at California State University, Chico. I then relocated to Portland, OR where I received a Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis and Clark College. I have a passion for working with adolescents and their families to navigate understanding and to promote growth as a system. My experience thus far includes family, individual and couples therapy, with a great emphasis on eating disorders and embodiment. As a Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Associate, licensee #R8727, I am currently working towards full licensure under an approved supervisor, Lisa McLaughlin, LMFT.
